About Watkin Jones

Environment

Watkin Jones are committed to minimising the environmental impact of its development activities, and to promoting the philosophy of sustainable construction.

We have a well-established Environmental Policy, and have put in place a range of disciplines and procedures for all sites - monitoring and minimising waste in all forms.

  • Waste Management Plans are established for all sites prior to the commencement of works.
  • Wherever feasible materials are reclaimed and/or recycled in an environmentally friendly manner.
  • Site boundaries are maintained in a way which minimises the wind blown contamination of site environs.
  • Dust pollution is minimised during dry conditions through use of water spray.
  • Noise levels are regularly monitored, with unavoidable disturbances being minimised.

All of our commercial developments are designed to the BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) ‘Good’ standard as an absolute minimum  -  with our aim being ‘Very Good’. Residential developments are designed to meet or better the ECOHOMES standards of ‘Good’  - as our customers have come to expect.

Watkin Jones also, wherever possible, employ local suppliers and contractors and specify locally sourced materials - thus reducing transport CO2 emissions.

We believe that all these initiatives add up to make a real difference – which is good news for the environment, and for the future.
